SYNC™ Appleton: Change Happens Here

Welcome to SYNC Appleton! Our work is currently focused on supporting the Appleton School Districts and the community of Appleton. Since early 2026 we have implemented a new survey about technology usage and mental health outcomes for 4th Grade and up, reviewed local data, and begun building a local community coalition of community leaders to ensure our young people are growing up with the supports they need to live their best lives.

Catherine Villnave

Catherine Villnave, Community Coordinator

Catherine has spent over 15 years working with and for children and families to ensure that all young folks have the opportunities they deserve. Her work has led her to do several fun things like run after school programs, teach physics, direct robotics programs, launch community schools initiatives, and help young people go to college. Most recently she supported the development of the Family Resource Center in downtown Appleton with First 5 Fox Valley. Prior to calling Appleton home, she worked in Cheyenne, WY and Baltimore, MD. Catherine believes that the best work happens when many voices are at the table and she is excited to support SYNC’s community-led process in Appleton.
